Miriam Tasini M.D. Psychiatrist Psychoanalyst Author
I am a Diplomat of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and I am a Psychoanalyst Certified by the Board on Professional Standards of the American Psychoanalytic Association
I have had a wide range of professional experience as a clinician and educator.
Most recently, after spending 4 years assisting the International Psychoanalytic Association in the establishment of a new psychoanalytic institute in Poland, I expanded my activities to creative writing. During those biannual, work related trips, I have had the opportunity to explore the history of my family. I am a second generation holocaust survivor. By using this research, as well as sagas heard throughout my life, I have completed a book based on the epic, unplanned journey of my family as they escaped from the Nazi extermination during the Second World War.
About My Practice
Psychoanalysis and psychotherapy have been an important aspect of my work. I have had extensive training in psychosomatic medicine. I have been able to utilize this experience to expand my work to two special areas; work inhibition in professional women and the psychological aspects of assisted reproductive technology. For the past six years I have organized workshops on these topics at meetings across the United States and in Europe and Mexico.
